Jewelry Care

Make It Last

Fine jewelry is delicate by nature. Your Astris pieces are crafted from genuine precious metals and natural stones. Like all beautiful things, they require a little love and attention to maintain their luster over time.

01

The Golden Rule: "Last On, First Off"

Chemicals are the enemy of Gold Vermeil and natural stones. To protect your jewelry, make it the last thing you put on before leaving the house and the first thing you take off when you return.

Avoid Scents: Apply perfumes, lotions, and hairspray before wearing your bracelet. Let them dry completely.

No Sweat: Remove your jewelry before heavy exercise. Our body's natural oils and sweat can accelerate tarnishing.

02

Water & Elements

While our stones are water-resistant, water can affect the longevity of the gold plating and the elasticity of the cord.

Keep it Dry: Always remove your jewelry before swimming, bathing, or showering. Chlorine and saltwater are particularly harsh on Gold Vermeil.

Sunlight: Store your gemstones away from direct sunlight when not in use. Some stones (like Amethyst and Rose Quartz) can fade if left in the sun for too long.

03

How to Wear (Crucial for Elastic)

To ensure your bracelet's elastic cord lasts for years, do not pull or stretch it excessively when putting it on.

The "Roll" Method: Gently roll the bracelet over your hand and onto your wrist.

Why? Rolling minimizes the stress on the elastic fibers, preventing them from snapping or losing their shape over time.

04

Cleaning & Storage

Cleaning: After wearing, gently wipe your bracelet with a soft, dry cloth (like a lens cloth) to remove skin oils. Do not use chemical jewelry dips or ultrasonic cleaners, as these can damage the stones.

Oxidation: It is natural for Sterling Silver to oxidize (darken) slightly over time. A quick rub with a silver polishing cloth will restore its shine instantly.

Storage: Oxygen accelerates tarnishing. When not in use, store your Astris piece in the provided pouch or a cool, dark, dry place.

Quick Care Tips

Q: Why is my Gold Vermeil turning silver?

A: Gold Vermeil is a thick layer of gold over Sterling Silver. Over time, with heavy wear or exposure to chemicals/water, the gold can naturally fade, revealing the silver underneath. Following the "Keep it Dry" rule helps prevent this.

Q: Can I sleep in my jewelry?

A: We recommend taking it off. Sleeping in jewelry can cause unnecessary tension on the elastic cord and increase friction on the metal surface.
